O-Ring Biothane Dog Collar

Four Black Paws

Center O-Ring Collars are a style of dog collar that is designed for owners who want the ring away from the buckle. They are often called "safety" collars because when worn loose, your dog can slip out of the collar if they get hung up on brush; this design allows the collar to move in a more fluid way so the collar can twist and bend. The o-ring opposite the buckle also allows you to more quickly attach a leash to the collar. We also attach a d-ring to the collar near the buckle so the collar is more versatile.

Every collar in this line is hand crafted from coated webbing that is durable and easy to clean. It even stays flexible in cold weather! This amazing webbing is soft and has the appearance of leather but is more durable, cleanable, stronger and easier to maintain than leather. It's also:

-water repellant

-stink-resistant **NOT resistant to skunk smell.

-antbacterial

-stronger than nylon and leather

-cleanable with soap and water

**Due to the amount of customization for these collars, returns and exchanges CANNOT be accepted. All sales are final.

Ordering Instructions:

It is very important to carefully measure your pups neck (or current collar) to get an accurate collar fit as these collars do not have as big of an adjustable range as our fabric and canvas collars. When ordering, choose the size that has your dog's neck size set as the middle hole for the best fit. See the photo above for our recommendation on getting an accurate measurement.

There are 2 simple ways to measure your dog's neck size to determine which collar size will fit your pup best.

1) **This method is recommended** Gently use a piece of string or other soft material like a phone charger cord. Hold the end of the string/cable between your finger and thumb and gently wrap the other side around your dog's neck (the base of the neck above the shoulders) where the collar will sit. The tape should be snug but not too tight. If your dog has very thick fur be sure to get the tape closer to the skin. Let go of the string/cord and mark the spot in the middle of the string/cord with your finger that marked your pup's neck size. From there, use a tape measure to get the measurement from your string/cord measurement. You'll want to choose the size of collar that has your dog's neck size as one of the middle numbers. For example, if your pups neck is 17", you'll want to choose the 15"-18" collar.

2) Use their current collar (see photo above for more information on how to do this):  Note: do not measure end to end!  This is a very common mistake and if done this way, your measurement will be off by at least an inch or two resulting in a collar that is too big. In the photo, you'll see that the female end (open end of the buckle) is placed at the "0" on the measuring tape. Measure from this spot on the 'female' end of the buckle to just where the material ends (do not include the 'male' end of the buckle in your measurement). You'll see, in the photo above, that Leila's fabric buckle collar measures 17" and her perfect fit biothane collar is the 15"-18" size.

**If you are having trouble finding your pup's neck size, please don't hesitate to contact me for help or send pictures of your pups current collar next to a ruler/tape measure for me to help you determine the best size.

All holes on the collar are set 0.5" apart for a more personalized fit.  Please note, an additional hole is punched before the first and after the last measurement of the size you order. For example, if you order a 16”-18” collar, your collar will be adjustable 15.5” to 18.5”.

Please scroll through the pictures to see all available collar color choices. You will also need to choose if you'd like stainless steel (silver) hardware or solid brass (gold) hardware.

Standard vs. Super Heavy:

The choice between purchasing the standard thickness collar and the super heavy thickness collar is personal preference. Both thicknesses have a break strength of 750-1,000 pounds. The standard thickness material is approximately 0.1" thick and the super heavy thickness material is approximately 0.15" thick.

Engraved Name Plate:

Engraved name plates are available at an additional cost and attach to your new collar using the same strong rivets we use to make the collar.

Your name plate will come in the same color hardware that you choose and will come attached to your collar between the o-ring and the buckle (opposite the side of the holes used to adjust the collar).

You can choose up to 3 lines of text with no more than 15 characters (including spaces) in each line. Please note, the more text you choose, the smaller the lettering will be.
